Bok Bok-Mother’s Day

Sunday, May 11th, 2008

It’s Mother’s Day evening. Things are winding down. Kids getting showers and ready for school tomorrow.

We went to Indiana for Mother’s day. I got my mom coffee (love Arctic Sunrise!), baking cocoa and raw sugar from Dean’s Beans.

I also glazed a coffee mug for my mom for her special day. She collects chickens. I had to put chickens on her mug. On the front of the mug it says “Bok, Bok.” The fun part was glazing the bottom of the mug to look like there was chicken poop on the bottom. The picture didn’t turn out great but it really does look like chicken shit. I had to put “Oh Crap!” in there also. My dad is always saying ahhhh crap. I amuse myself.

Blog, Blog, Bloggidy-Blog

I’m not a great blogger. There I said it. The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem.

I honestly don’t know how some people do it. I read other people’s blogs and it is incredible the amount they write.

I am constantly feeling like I’m treading water and can’t get ahead.

I’m making a promise to myself that I’ll post at least twice a week. It’s a start.

Here is my granddaughter. She is adorable. We have had a lot of snow recently.

My daughter sent these photos of Anastasia outside playing in the snow.

Kristen and Anastasia

This is my daughter Kristen and Anastasia (Annie Bananie as I call her).
What’s that on Kristen’s head you say?
Why It’s a purple fox!
The things you can buy when you visit Russia!
You didn’t know there were purple foxes?!
I guess they’ve been around for a while because my winter coat is trimmed with purple fox!

What would winter be without eating snow?!! She is wearing the snowsuit my son Conrad and my daughter Kali wore when they were toddlers. She is wearing Kali’s purple mittens. Anastasia LOVES Kali who is 10 now. Annie calls Kali KK, which is what we called here when she was little.

Gotta love the blue eyes and the smile!! She is just precious!! I am very biased!!

Happy Valentines Day

The Look of Love by Dusty Springfield

Happy Valentines Day! I went out last night and bought my husband a card, flowers, candy and a big Heart chocolate chip cookie. I set everything out last night before I went to bed so he would have a surprise before he left for school. I had a card for him in the bathroom also, so he would see it first thing in the morning. I am picking up Gyros at our new greek restaurant and going to have lunch with Steve.

I had candy for all the kids this morning also. They have to wait till they get home from school before they can get all sugared up.

Have a wonderful Valentines Day!

Michigan Fiber Festival
This is me at the Michigan Fiber Festival in August. After this show on August 23, I started a diet. I was way over due to do something about my weight. I’m not getting any younger and it’s not going to get any easier. A friend told me about Kimkins.com I had never heard of it and decided to check it out. I know myself well enough to know if it doesn’t come off fast I won’t stick to it and give up. You can only take torture for so long with only minimal results.
Down 32.5 lbs
Here I am today, 32.5 lbs less. I look and feel much better. Not looking as troll-like anymore. I wanted to share my success so far and help keep myself motivated.

Princess Anastasia

Halloween night my granddaughter came to “Trick or Treat.”

This is “Princess Anastasia.”

She’s not up for wearing her tiara tonight.

Maybe another day.

Her daddy is from Russia….hmmmmm. Maybe she is a true princess!

YES, SHE IS!

Princess Anastasia
oooooooooooooooooo Princess Anastasia

She is adorable as can be! Love those Blue Eyes!

So nice to see her and my daughter.

They just got back from Russia.

Express

Monday, July 23rd, 2007

I Express Mailed my choices for Vogue Knitting. It seemed to be a mail day today. Another package went Priority Mail and all had to be done by 5:30pm to make sure the package to Soho Pub got to NYC by Noon. This of course was mixed with sitting at the dentists office while my daughter was getting filling put in. I was making charms for stitch markers in the waiting room, all the while people look at you like you’re from another planet because you’re not being normal reading a magazine. My kids are getting used to it. I take my container with me for all of the down time while you’re waiting endlessly.

Sigh, the life of being an oddity in a conservative city.

Anastasia eating Birthday Cake

Anastasia is one!

My granddaughter turned one at the end of June and I neglected to post her birthday picture. She had a great time eating cake and playing with all the birthday presents.

Birthday Bank

Grandma’s present had to come home for a repair. I need to touch up a couple places on her butterfly bank and refire. It turned out great. Nothing like being last minute and staying up till 2 am the night before to finish her gift!

Anastasia and Valentine

I mentioned my granddaughter in a previous post. This is Anastasia with the family dog, Valentine, a white boxer. She is 9 months old and almost crawling. Annie looks like her mother when she was a baby.
