Holiday Issue-Vogue Knitting

I had to get my hands on a copy of the new Vogue Knitting. Barnes&Noble came through for me. I was told the layout was going to be an article on beautiful buttons. Instead it is listed on the “Very New Very Vogue” spread. Not what I expected but I can’t complain I have 2 buttons in this months Issue of Vogue Knitting!

The blurb says:

“We’ve Got the Buttons
The Ancient Greeks used them as early as 2000BC. Eighteenth-century dandies used them to embellish their extravagant clothing.
Byt the 20th century they were considered strictly utilitarian. But knitters know that choosing the right buttons for an FO is as essential as choosing the right yarn.”

The in person magazine is much better than my photography!

Winter Issue of Vogue Knitting

The Winter Issue of Vogue Knitting has been mailed to subscribers. I am so anxious to see a copy. My buttons are in this issue in an article on “Beautiful Buttons.”

My friend Kristine called to tell me her copy arrived. She also said that my buttons looked the best in the article! That makes me smile!
Copies should be on the newsstands on Monday, October15.

Simply Beads Article

August 2007 issue of Simply Beads is on the newsstands. Don’t walk, run to get your copy. I am excited to say, that my buttons are in this issue.

Above is the title of the article, written by my clay friend Melanie Brooks Lucas. Melanie is so very talented in many ways. She creates beautiful ceramic beads. Her business Earthenwood Studios is very successful. If you were at the Bead&Button Show you probably saw her there. Melanie is now starting to write more articles for magazines and will soon help author a book by Tonya Davis of Whole Lotta Whimsy about beads.

These are the 2 spreads of the magazine. Starting on page 40 and ending on page 43.

My highlighted button is on page 43. I also have 4 buttons on the title page of the article. It is so much fun being published! I have been published before but it’s been a while . It helps when you work for the publishing company! That was years ago.

Exciting!!

I received an email yesterday asking if I would like to contribute 5 buttons for an article on Beautiful Buttons for VOGUE KNITTING! Vogue Knitting is one of THE knitting magazines. Don’t believe I need to think twice on that offer!!

So far these are the 3 I have chosen. I’m thinking about a least one of the freeform Picasso-esque buttons. Not sure about the fifth button yet.

Which ones do you think I should send? I’m so excited!
